In addition to purchasing, this role includes estimating and long-term planning, recommending policy and process changes, and mentoring purchasing staff. This role demands independent problem solving and a continuous improvement mindset.
Why We Need This Position
TEAGUE may be known for its big ideas, but those ideas require loads of highly technical and customized materials and equipment. And that stuff doesn’t just materialize out of thin air. It needs to be ordered-tracked-received-organized-and-accounted for. It involves collaborating with vendors, troubleshooting, problem solving, maintaining inventory, processing invoices, and more. You’re the who ensures seamless procurement of a wide variety of parts for project teams and TEAGUE clients.
Who We’re Looking
An independent-minded problem-solver who can source and procure custom parts, assemblies, or entire mockups based on the needs of TEAGUE’s clients and the design team, the constraints of the project, and the capabilities of TEAGUE’s vendor base. This role involves a variety of skill sets. First, you must have basic procurement knowledge and be able to maintain appropriate raw stock inventory, maintain PO records and supporting documentation, and process and reconciled POs and invoices. Second, you possess a rock-solid understanding of technical design documents and a working knowledge of many technologies and processes, including printed parts (SLS, SLA, FDM, other), machined parts, weldments, tooling, composites, fiberglass, textiles, and processes like powder coating and paint. Third, you communicate clearly and resolve misunderstandings and conflicts between vendors, designers, and the project team. In addition to sourcing, you’ll lead process improvements and structured problem-solving efforts to continuously and collaboratively improve the Procurement function. As the primary manager of vendor relationships, you’ll represent TEAGUE’s values to vendors through clear and professional communication and ensure that the company is receiving competitive pricing, quality, and service. This role also supports the project teams with diligent estimating and project planning and maintains vendor information in TEAGUE’s ERP system. If you’re an independent worker with procurement expertise who thrives on solving creative challenges and providing the highest level of customer service at all levels within the company and beyond, let’s talk.
