Overview

The Creative Director is a visionary leader for cultural and design excellence in the Aerospace Design Studio and across Teague. The position requires an extensive knowledge of and experience in design consulting and the ability to direct multi-disciplinary teams in a holistic design approach on complex strategic projects. The Creative Director is highly collaborative; responsible for crafting a creative point of view, vision and content; and partners with Program/Project Management to ensure the highest quality deliverables are achieved. They are responsible for the creative quality, output, processes and oversight of project teams; the ideation, presentation and execution of client product development; and the operational readiness of the creative team, all in fulfillment of TEAGUE’s promise to our clients. The role supports multiple projects and guides teams that can range from 1 to 10 designers per project.

Who We’re Looking For

You will participate in the studio’s strategic planning and make recommendations for changes to the creative function to meet market changes and competitive threats. It’s up to you to direct the creative function so that all aspects—culture, team, tools, processes, expectations, and work style—support the TEAGUE brand and TEAGUE strategic goals.  

 

On a tactical level, you’ll partner with the Business Development & Program Management teams to pursue and/or respond to new client and project opportunities. You’ll lead and support pitching and shaping new opportunities with a strong POV, help writing proposals and estimate projects. In addition, youll use your strategic thinking skills to drive conversations with new and existing clients to support their design, product and brand strategy with project teams and executive level client stakeholders. Finally, you have a good understanding of team skillsets and can bring the right team to programs. Managing clients, addressing ongoing challenges, pivoting as needed, maintaining high-quality standards, and adhering to schedules and budgets are all part of the job.

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a design-related field; 10+ years design consulting experience, including an extensive, varied portfolio; 3+ years as a creative director in a consulting environment; 5+ years of demonstrated success building and managing ad hoc teams; experience providing long-term planning as well as oversight of day-to-day operations; demonstrated experience in the business side, as well as the creative side of the industry; a proven success of satisfied clients 
  • Special skills: Specialized knowledge of the requirements of a design operation, including aviation or transportation design, experience design and product development; experience leading a mix of physical, digital or experiential design work; demonstrated client management skills; demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills; exceptional presentation, communication and writing skills; exceptional project framing skills; excellent follow-through, organizational and prioritization skills  
  • Passion: Leading creative teams; pushing the boundaries of design; building the future 
  • Role: Providing big-picture leadership, tactical experience and skills, and collaborative support to TEAGUE’s creative teams

TEAGUE is currently working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are a Washington State based company. All employees must reside in the state of Washington and be able to access one of our studio locations in the greater Seattle area when we return to work in our hybrid/remote work approach.
