The Senior Textile Designer (On-Call) is responsible for researching, designing and developing upholstery fabric, drapery, carpet, and wall coverings for all Boeing model aircraft. An expert level of aesthetic and technical knowledge and deep understanding of pattern design and application is essential, as is a sensitivity to cultural differences as expressed through color and design solutions.
Why We Need This Position
TEAGUE has built its success on innovation, yes. But the key to that success is our knowledge that creative solutions aren’t always just about deploying the latest technology. It’s about listening to what our global clientele wants and needs and our ongoing commitment to seeking inspiration from a wide variety of sources, so that our design solutions perfectly reflect their aesthetics. That’s where you come in.
Who We’re Looking For
A textile designer with a passion for great design and a love of the aviation industry. In this role, you will collaborate with internal design teams to create original pattern designs to support customer-specific air travel experiences. More specifically, this means conducting research to support concept development, pattern design, and color direction that expresses a clear design point of view. Once you’ve successfully presented this direction, you’ll be responsible for creating customer-specific pattern designs for upholstery fabric, drapery, carpet, decorative wall coverings, feature art, floor mats, and other items, as required. In addition to a strong aesthetic, you have the technical knowledge to get the job done. This includes ensuring that all designs meet production requirements; preparing production files and coordinating with outside vendors to develop approved design concepts; creating renderings for presentation purposes; and documenting project data. Personality-wise, you’re a team player, adept at working with others to achieve successful results. You’re a born problem solver, excellent listener, flexible and diplomatic, and unflappable in high-pressure situations. If you’re a textile superstar with technical know-how and a no-obstacle-is-too-great attitude; a pleasure to work with; and love planes, we’ve got your dream job waiting for you.
